What's worse than the non-stop barrage of media attention surrounding the she-bot known as Katie Holmes? Oh, I-don't-know, how about the non-stop barrage of media attention her hair gets?

True story, there is an article on CNN.com about none other than Mrs. Tom Cruise's new do. Now, I don't want to spoil the article for you, but she apparently cut her hair a few inches, thus effectively propelling herself among the world's top movers and shakers.

Now granted, this story was in the entertainment section where it should be but my problem is that her hair has effectively become more popular than her (which isn't hard these days considering post-marriage, little Joey from "Dawson's Creek" has the personality of a rutabaga...a very dull rutabaga).

I never got the hype surrounding certain celebrity haircuts. I mean, remember "The Rachel?" Sure Jennifer Aniston looked adorable in it, but I never got what the big deal was.

It's the same thing with Victoria Beckham's various haircuts. It seems the celebrity rags follow her every haircut and blowout like it's the Holy Grail.

Now, I'm just into hair as the next girl. I've dyed my hair every color imaginable (and some "have to see it to believe" shades...hello accidental bright magenta) and have gone from long to short to medium to way short to super long and back again.

But enough is enough. Call me when Katie Holmes wakes up from her coma, not when she's leaving her stylist.
