Little Red Riding Hood in a gothic love triangle?

Why grandma, what big ironically-worn cross necklaces you have!

Yes, just when you think Hollywood couldn't possibly remake, revamp, retell, re-imagine, re...well, you get the idea, Variety is reporting that H-town is now retelling the classic fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" in a new movie.

I'll give you a moment to let that sink in.

Oh, did I also mention it's a Gothic retelling?

With a love triangle thrown in for good measure?

A teenage love triangle?

Yeah.

While details of the script aren't available (other than it's being written by David Johnson), I can't help imagining Little Red making out with a wolf. And I really, really, really, don't want to know grandma's role in this whole thing.

On the bright side, however, at least for all you Twihards, the film's director is none other than Catherine Hardwicke, the chick behind the "Twilight" movie.

So, who knows? Maybe it will be a big hit. I mean, we've already embraced vampire/mortal love. Why not bestiality?
