There are few people in this world that can make me cheat on my imaginary celebrity husband Orlando Bloom. One is my fiance. The other is Ryan Reynolds.
Too often dismissed by people (many of whom I'm assuming never saw him without his shirt on) who think of him merely as "that guy who played Van Wilder," Reynolds is finally getting his due in Hollywood. And it's about time.
The Internet is all abuzz that Reynolds has been picked to play the Green Lantern, beating out Bradley Cooper, Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake.
This news comes on the heels of the announcement that Reynolds will also star in a Deadpool spinoff, making him one of the first actors ever to play comic book characters by both DC and Marvel.
While this news has some hard core fans' panties in a wad, I say if anyone can do it, Reynolds can. He's done comedy ("Waiting," "The Proposal"), drama ("The Nines," "Smokin' Aces"), horror ("The Amityville Horror"), action ("Blade Trinity" "X-Men Origins: Wolverine") and a plethora of indie roles.
While there are many leading men in Hollywood that have abs you can grate cheese off of, few of them have the range and comedic timing of Reynolds.
Plus, he's Canadian. When have you ever met a Canadian you didn't like?

OH!!!! He was the guy in "The Proposal?" NOW I know who he is. Yeah, he's a nice lookin' guy, but I liked Sandra Bullock a LOT more.
