It's no secret that I am coo-coo loco super nut job crazy about Indiana Jones. After seeing "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as a child, not only was I in love with Indy and determined to marry him (fictional character obstacles aside), but I also had found my career path in life.

I was going to be an archaeologist and travel the world fighting Nazis just like him (and that dream lasted all the way until I turned 10, discovered "Dirty Dancing" and made it my life's goal to marry Patrick Swayze and grind professionally for a living).

That said, I have to admit I was disappointed in the revival of the franchise, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the World's Longest Movie Title." While I love me some Shia La(whatever his last name is) and didn't even mind that my Indy now had copious amounts of wrinkles, the movie was missing that essential magic that made the first three films so awesome.

It was missing that Indy-ness.

But it looks like Hollywood is going to give it another go. In a recent interview with BBC, Shia spilled the beans and told the world that a fifth Indy story is being worked out even as we speak. Supposedly Shia would be taking the lead on this one with Harrison Ford coming back in role much like Sean Connery did ("Junior!").

While I'm holding out hope they find a better plot line than aliens, I'm still worried this next movie might be the final nail in the coffin for 'ol Indy and his pals.

And I'm not alone. The EW PopWatch Blog has the same concerns. But they also have some brilliant suggestions, such as picking a new young Indy and taking the series back in time to cover his life in between the time of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and "Temple of Doom."

Here's to hoping someone (cough, cough, Spielberg, cough) is listening. The last thing any of us Indy fans want is for our hero to go out in disgrace.
