Well, come October we are about to find out. The first ever National Tween Girl Summit is going to be held in Washington D.C. this October.

The all day event is expecting 250 9-14-year-old girls to attend, as well as politicians, experts and celebrities (let's just hope they keep Chris Brown away). According to the news release:

"The goal of the Summit is to examine and understand the minds, motivation and lives of tween girls, giving tween girls a platform to share their thoughts and opinions on a range of subjects, and marketers, policy makers and parents a more thorough understanding of this enigmatic and highly influential demographic."

The best part? If you're a tween girl (or a parent) you can still register to go. Check out this link to find out more and how to register.

Personally, I think this is a great idea. I can recall my mother telling me that she spent the entire time I was 11 to 14 confused, frustrated and trying not to strangle me. Unfortunately, I'm too old now (or in denial) to remember how or why I was driving her nuts (although I do remember putting my hands in a "W" shape and saying "Whatever" a lot).

Going inside the mind of a tween girl may be a scary place, but maybe it will give us a better idea of what's going on in there (and hopefully answer important questions such as why they feel the need to constantly roll their eyes and use the word "like" six times in one sentence).
