Each year, at least for me, it's the same dilemma. What do you get the same people for Christmas every year?
This is especially difficult for those "hard-to-buy-for" folks. You know who I mean. For instance, my step-dad. I never know what to get that man and any time I have something in mind, he's already bought it. And I'm pretty sure if I buy him one more tie, he's going to disown me.
Well, this year we're in luck. The Victoria College Fall Student Art Exhibit opens up tonight with a reception from 4-6 p.m. and continues through Dec. 11. Many of the artworks on display, including paintings, photography, sculpture, pottery, computer art and drawings, will be for sale. Purchased work can be picked up after the exhibit on Dec. 14, just in time to wrap it for Christmas.
Not only will you be investing in young artists but you'll also give a one-of-a-kind gift. And since the artwork is by college students, it will be high quality but still won't break the bank.
There's no charge to see the exhibit or to attend the reception, which is at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the VC campus.

Excellent suggestion, Aprill. Thanks.
November 5, 2009 at 12:10 p.m.Aprill, thanks so much for putting this out for all to see! It is a great way to support the students and fellow artists of the surrounding area. And if people have never attended, they should. There is some truly outstanding artwork to behold.
