30 days. 50,000 words. Plot optional.

Yes, as November creeps closer, myself and other Nanowrimo fanatics are preparing for National Novel Writing Month.

This will be my third attempt at trying to accomplish the insane task of writing an entire novel in a month. My record so far is pathetic. A mere 7,000 words.

But this year will be different. This year I will reach the Nanowrimo goal of 50,000 (or at least make it into the the five digits).

For you newbies out there, the rules are simple. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30. The only thing that matters is quantity, not quality.

So why do it? Well, for losers like me who have always said we wanted to write a novel but simply don't have the time, this little experiment fixes that. It probably won't ever get published, but at least you can finally truthfully utter the words "I wrote a novel" (you can leave out the part that it sucks).

So, who's with me? Anyone else want to take on this challenge?
