For the record the Sun will be passing the galactic plane "as viewed" from the earth. Actually the Sun is a light yeat or two north of the galactic plane and it will remain there for a long time.
Ok, here's what the uproar is about. In 2012 the Earth will be crossing the galactic plane about the time of the Winter Solstice. It crosses this plane twice a year - the zodiac wonks make this out as some big deal.
Anyway the Earth, Sun and the constellation Ophiuchus (O-fy-cuss) and the center of the galaxy will all be kind of aligned. This is suppose to correspond to the end of days predicted by the Mayans and Nostradamus, although they didn't know what a galaxy is or how they are formed. Come to think of it neither do we, but all I can say is stock up on beer and BBQ the end may be near - or not!
Sug, my hubby is a Taurus. Ask anyone who knows me, when I'm around people my brain shuts down. I can barely remember my own name. I have a bit of social-phobia and it really makes it hard for me to be around people. When I get to know someone I am off the charts outgoing, but it takes awhile.

As for me, all I can ever be is 100% full-blooded Taurus. Once a Taurus, always a Taurus. I embrace the bad qualities of my sign as much as the good. I think a famous man once said, "I yam what I yam, and that's all that I yam...."

Your sign only changed if you go by the sidereal zodiac, which is determined by constellations and people in Eastern countries follow.
If you have been going by the tropical zodiac, which most Western countries follow, nothing has changed.
