BRYAN - The Victoria Generals took a 3-2 Texas Collegiate League win over the Brazos Valley Bombers on Saturday behind the complete game pitching of Chase Cleveland. The victory gives the Generals with a five-game lead over the East Texas Pump Jacks with five games to play in the TCL regular season.

The Generals, now 26-13, were led by the bottom of the order.

Joey Kenworthy led off the fourth with a single and eventually scored on a passed ball. In the fifth inning, Tyler King singled to lead off the inning, Kenworthy bunted him over, and then King scored from second on an error by the Bombers second baseman. Then in the sixth, Kenny Jackson drew a 2 out walk, Brian Nephew singled him to third and King singled him home for what proved to be the game-winner.

Cleveland carried a one-hitter into the seventh and the defense was a key to his success against the Bombers.
