Memorial's Roman Madrid was selected by the Cleveland Indians today in the MLB draft.
Madrid, who has already signed with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to pitch, is listed as a catcher on the MLB Web site. Madrid caught for the Vipers in his junior season and pitched and played third base as a senior at Memorial.
Madrid was the 1,325th pick in this year's draft.
