I've been taking it easy this week. Not hitting the gym as much, running a total of 10 miles and feeling slightly guilty.
I have a race in 6 weeks, another half, but today as I was at the gym, I wanted to run more 5ks. I found myself yearning for more race bibs.
I don't know why. Maybe it was pushing myself today on a tempo run (I ran 20 minutes at my 5K pace). Maybe it's knowing often I can go farther or faster.
However, I need to focus on Dallas. I need to focus on beating 2:28; I'm shooting for 2:25 or less.
What does that mean? It means serious training. It means losing weight. It means fewer beers and more water bottles (re-usable mind you). That's what's next.
After that? I don't know. There's the Seattle half-marathon. Or maybe San Diego. I'm not sure. But right now I'm focusing on Dallas and then I'll decide the next step.
