Despite the chilly weather, the rain, Amy Hastings ran today's L.A. marathon in 2 hours 27 minutes and 03 seconds, placing second behind Burunesh Deba. Did I mention it was her first marathon?

When I watched part of the live video from the L.A. Times website, I caught a snippet of Hastings being interviewed. Her hair in pigtails and a beaming smile, Hastings was humble and yet electrified by her win.

It made me smile and realize she ran the marathon in the time it takes me to run a half marathon.

Her win has left me beaming and figuring out what's next for me. What's my next goal and my next race.

And hopefully Hastings will continue to inspire others and race. Cause I can't wait to see what she does next.
