• I am diabetic.
    I don't have need to eat out much- but when I do, I order a takeout box when I place my order. The world doesn't need to cater to me. If I should receive a sugar laden beverage, I simply ask, if I can switch it, stating " You or me forgot, but I need sugar free".
    Waiting for the world to cater to my needs isn't going to happen(I have a friend with strong allergy to peanut product, very similar) I simply change my habits to fit the world. Controlling diabetes is a life changing situation.
    Eating out when sugar in out of control is a very bad idea- carbs hide in all sorts of food. Cooks are not dietitians, most if not all, can't tell you how many carbs are in a given dish/portion, not their job, that is my job.
