Victoria’s temperature peaked at a balmy 84 degrees about 4 p.m. Tuesday, tying the record high for the date set in 1939.
About 12 hours later the temperature dipped to a chilly 36 degrees, a drop of 48 degrees. Sleet fell at the Victoria Regional Airport and snow was reported as close as La Grange.
Brace for tonight.
A hard freeze is in the forecast as the temperature falls into the mid-20s at Victoria. Freezing temperatures are expected to last for more than six hours.
