You can now start your day with a cup of coffee and a daily multimedia weather briefing from the National Weather Service.
The Corpus Christi office of the weather service began the production on July 1.
The briefings are intended to be a concise, non-technical explanation of the upcoming weather for South Texas and the adjacent waters over the next seven days. There’s also an update on the tropics.
If significant weather hazards are expected to affect the region, then a more detailed briefing is anticipated.
To watch the briefings, go to www.srh.noaa.gov/crp/

Another NWS feature that is extremely useful is the Area Forecast Discussion found on the bottom right hand corner of the NWS Homepage. It is often quoted and used almost verbatum by the tv weather people as their weather dialogue. I finally convinced my wife that we don't need to watch the local weather guy tease with absurd questions like "will it rain, I'll let you know during the weather portion of our news." NWS has the most up to date, current, accurate and informative information we need to plan our lives.
