It has been a while since we had a storm like the one that blew through the Crossroads area Wednesday morning.

Actually there were two storms and both spawned severe weather. From what I can tell, Goliad had the worst weather. A lady there told me she and her husband hunkered down in the bathroom during the worst of the storm.

They feared a tornado was approaching as the sky turned black and had a greenish hue. Then the hail and high winds hit.

“The only thing I didn’t hear was the freight train,” said Goliad resident Linda Austin. There were reports of golf-ball size hail in Goliad. Branches were ripped from trees and trees were blown over.

About 1,900 power company customers lost their electricity in Goliad alone.

Does anyone else have a storm story to pass along?
