Well Mr. Harry Reid,

You people up there in DC hate the smell of the people hey, or should I remind you that they are your EMPLOYERS!!! Poor baby, you elitists with your lobbyist sons who squander our money on all kind of crap hate the smell of anything except the BS that y'all have been dishing out to us. Bailing out your buddies and such. We low life's out here in fly over country have been having to put up with the smell of all those senator buddies of yours the past two years during this BS election campaign.

Well Mr. Reid. From the son of a hard working sweating WWII vet construction worker who didn't have air conditioning while raising his family, myself working and sweating in the evil oil field from Utah to off the coast of La and such, the husband of a hard working wife and mother, the father of a hard working son and another in the sand's of Iraq,

From us common folks, I've got three words for ya.....

SIT ON IT!!!!!!

Reid: We won't smell the tourists anymore

By Jeff Dufour and Patrick Gavin

The Capitol Visitors Center, which opened this morning, may have tripled its original budget and fallen years behind schedule, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid found a silver lining for members of Congress: tourists won't offend them with their B.O. anymore.

"My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway," said Reid in his remarks. "In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it's true."

But it's no longer going to be true, noted Reid, thanks to the air conditioned, indoor space.

And that's not all. "We have many bathrooms here, as you can see," Reid continued. "Souvenirs are available."

$621 million well spent.

  • I agree with most of what you say there Billy.

Just that when you lob fire you usually get return fire. And lord knows the left lobs much BS fire. It creates a natural reaction from the other side. I am an admitted news and talk junky of both sides so I hear a lot of things said many people do not hear. So when it comes out in the mainstream I have already heard most of the back and forth.
It is amazing what they make news about sometimes.

  • I wouldn't exactly say that I'm a hate Bush guy. I voted for him in 2000. And I'm not exactly one to shy away from B.O.  The main freshwater evaporators on the submarine I served on went kaput and all showers were banned to conserve water until we could get to port 18 days later to get the parts we needed for an emergency fix. That's 125 men with no showers in a sealed metal tube. I don't think anyone would enjoy that, I know I didn't.

But that's not the point I was making, and that you all have enforced. The point is that people will make a big deal over little things when petty politics get involved. Both sides do it and it stinks worse than anyone's B.O.  As I said, I don't understand why anyone would make a big deal over some guy (not even one of our Texas guys) saying someone else stinks. Was it stupid? Yes. Should he have said it? No. Does he look like a jerk for saying it? Absolutely.  Maybe if he ticks off enough people in his voting district, they'll give him the boot.

We've got plenty of important things to worry about other than some guy cracking on B.O.

  • ROFL
Well, I guess that's why they are not million dollar football coaches.

  • I'd rather read these run on sentences than stupid a## fantasy football crap posted elsewhere in these blogs.
I suppose that may be the reason he does fantasy sports and skips real sports. You might get a whiff of someone else's BO in the locker room.

  • Oh it's the hate Bush crowd out and alive.
I have been pelted in the ear by some 15 year old swinging his shotgun too wide trying to hit a quail, he wasn't drunk. Of course, he wasn't the evil Dick Cheney so it doesn't matter. Get over it !!!!!!!
Cool granny, yes we were all good sleeping in the South with fans but we took a bath regularly, required back then after gym class and after you got home.  Nowadays the PC crowd says you cannot make them shower after PE so they spray down with the body spray. Sweat and overdose body spray. Maybe that's what ole Harry was talking about? Naaa, your just not his level.  Your just one of those little creatures he looks out his window at.

  • Something stinks there, alright, and it's not the the tourist.

  • I,too, am the child of a WWII veteran, who returned addicted to morphine, and screamed and yelled most of my life during his dreams and then during the daytime over the tiniest thing. As a light sleeper I flew out of my bed on more than one occasion to be told that daddy was just dreaming. During the daylight hours we learned to just tune it out, or shut down until the rant was over. Dad worked the oil field and later the pipe lines in Alaska.
We didn't all survive this life, but 4 out of 5 did, and my mom is still living. I don't ever remember anyone in our family having bad body odor when we were in DC or anywhere. I hate this kind of mentality. If you are a hard worker, you are subhuman some how. The only good perspiration is in the gym. SAD,SAD,SAD.

  • I have a hard time believing that anyone would get so torqued up over this. I don't like the smell of other people's B.O. either.

What's funny is that Dick Cheney can get drunk and shoot a guy in the face and folks like (but not necessarily including) yourself tell people that it was a bunch of fuss over nothing. Harry Reid cracks a joke about B.O. and gets pelted with the mother of all run-on sentences and no less than six oversized exclamation points.
