Many have heard of Sal Alinsky's book "Rules For Radicals" and hear of his tactics being used very well nowadays by Obama and Hillary Clinton before. Both have studied this radical revolutionary and his tactics and are using some of the tatics very well. The roots complained about with these people using them are there to see, and are quickly excused by some.

"Rules for Radicals" is available. Some of the reviews say things like...

"The book is a collection of ideas, situations and anecdotes spun into an easygoing yarn of the life of a community organizer. An organizer helps the have-nots get what the haves have, and then he goes and helps the have-not's get what the haves have and then ... well you get the idea."

"That's right, Mr. Alinsky has perfected the art of stomping your feet until you get your way. At least that appears to be his method. It explains a lot of the 'spoiled brat' revolutions we see today. I am not saying that there are not any causes without substance. Just a lot that seem to follow the same recipe."

Think Obama and his pundits don't use it? Just read and watch the main stream media. Alinsky's son sees father's handiwork at DNC convention from the Boston Globe. August 31, 2008

"ALL THE elements were present: the individual stories told by real people of their situations and hardships, the packed-to-the rafters crowd, the crowd's chanting of key phrases and names, the action on the spot of texting and phoning to show instant support and commitment to jump into the political battle, the rallying selections of music, the setting of the agenda by the power people. The Democratic National Convention had all the elements of the perfectly organized event, Saul Alinsky style. Barack Obama's training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness. It is an amazingly powerful format, and the method of my late father always works to get the message out and get the supporters on board. When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well. I am proud to see that my father's model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday. L. DAVID ALINSKY Medfield"
