Happy COGD!!!
Yes it is Cost Of Government Day here in the US. This day, Aug. 12th 2009, is the day of the calendar year when the average American worker has earned enough gross income to pay off his or her share of the spending and regulatory burdens imposed by government on the federal, state, and local levels. That’s 26 days longer than last year. Government, ie national, state, local government spending and regulations, consumes 61.34 % of our national income. If a Progressive Democrat Congress and centrist Republican President had not passed the TARP bill, which has not done what it was suppose to, the COGD would have been July 25th. Here is a LONG explanation of what is going on and why but it is well worth the time to read to get the FACTS. If you go to a townhall meeting, this is a MUST to have.

Thanks for reminding us. It's good to be aware of what our government is doing with our money. I sent that site to many others via e-mail.
