As tomorrow approaches, what are you thankful for...

Our youngest son back in the states and not in the sandbox overseas like last year. For those that took his place and do the job keeping him safe. A wife who has put up with me for all these years. Kids that turned out good. As crazy as I am God can still laugh at me at times.

A now little humor...

The Parrot A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's' mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior." John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

  • I am thankful for the Lord, who changed my life at the age of 14. My Lord waited patiently for me to return to His arms, and when I asked, then forgave a multitude of sins. His provisions for me were unimaginable in my limited thinking capacity: a husband who fears the Lord, loves me more than himself, loves my children, and continues to provide for all of us as he dreams of retirement. My Lord has mercy on all of my family and most of the time, we don't deserve it. He seeks us constantly when we stray and when we unite in His fellowship, He gives us peace beyond our understanding. I am thankful that through trials and tribulations, our Lord has my family on American soil this season of Thanksgiving. I pray for the safety of all soldiers this season. I am thankful for their service.

  • I am thankful that I have a house I feel safe in.

I am thankful that I have a job to complain about.

I am thankful that I have healthy family members that I can annoy.

I am thankful I have 10 fingers to whine about stuff I have no clue about online.

I am thankful that I can write what I want on here because of the courage of our veterans and current military members who are not with their families, but are still thankful for being alive.
