I (apparently amongst others) was not pleased to see the article's focus of the filming as opposed to the true story of violence.

The reporting of violence is the newspaper's obligation. Perhaps in reporting that it is such a notable point that at least one individual has elected to film such activity and publish the video does directly focus on how important violence is to certain circles.

I acknowledge and commend the reporting of adverse events (unpleasant as it may be).

I do remain without any knowledge of the "what, where, when, how and why". Perhaps future follow-ups will satisfy readers need to know. I certainly do not know what future reports may bring, this could well be in the works.

I remain insensible to a person finding pleasure in filming such events. Interview of the individual (and his mother) is a tidbit of information I do not find to be newsworthy or contributing to the report in any meaningful fashion.

This is my opinion solely, not a complaint or criticism.
Rather: I am satisfied with getting the report as is (opposed to no report). It is indeed an important subject that warrants your staff's diligence in reporting.

The Advocate has been my source of information for over fifty years, many of which was my solitary source. I remain respectful, trusting, and loyal to the Victoria Advocate.

While I currently reside in the Laurel highlands of Pennsylvania, I turn to the Advocate daily for news. I hold Victoria close to my heart, and remain forever homesick.

My second (albeit long winded) point is we should all be grateful to have such easy access to the Victoria Advocate.

I hold no interest in reading, participating in, or sponsoring any bashing, pointless criticizing of the Advocate. I thank you for respecting my thoughts should you elect to comment.
