We’re nearing our launch date for the new, glossy magazine, GC, and while the push to get our content completed is stressful, I am eager to see our first issue come to fruition on July 28.
One of the most exciting features of the magazine, other than the fact it is mostly local content celebrating the people and places of the Golden Crescent, is the Top 5 contest. Each issue will present the winners of that month’s contest, all previously nominated by readers of GC and the Victoria Advocate.
The inaugural issue will highlight the Top 5 Businesswomen in our region. Everyone is invited to nominate their favorite businesswoman by e-mailing or mailing a one-page letter of nomination detailing your nominee’s business achievements, community involvement and tell us why your nominee is worthy of this recognition.
Please include the nominee’s name, business name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Also include your name, address, telephone number and email address. Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, May 26, 2010, after which a panel of judges will be choosing the winners. The GC staff will then write short bios for and take photos of the winners for the July 28 issue.

So far, we have 2 nominations and counting. Please get involved and help us celebrate these wonderful women who have helped shape our communities throughout the Golden Crescent.
Story suggestions and feedback are also very much appreciated either via e-mail or our Facebook page.
