I guess times are getting harder these days when someone has to "steal" potatoes from a sack. This past Sunday I had to make a "quick" run to HEB on the Houston Hwy. Being in a hurry, I grabbed a 5 lbs. bad of Gold potatoes needed to restock my pantry. Hubby decided to do his "part" by bring in the "much needed" cant do without groceries and one being a 5 lbs bag of "Season Select" Golden potatoes. Since he "NEVER" goes inside to shop but elects to be the "car guard as his position is that he will stay in the car and keep the car running so the car will be "nice and cool" upon my return. Some would call this a "cop out" as grocery shopping has "zero" to do with fishing equipment... but like the "Little Red Hen" really dont want any part of the shopping but "wow" now that its ready, lets eat. Now back to the "Potato thief"...he made the comment that the bag of 5lbs potatoes seemed small and light weight. Upon checking out the bag, we decided to weigh it and unbelievable...the bag tip the scale just a little under 4 lbs. My first thought was to call HEB or run back wasting a gallon of gas and then...WOULD THEY BELIEVE ME. So I decided to "chalk it up" and next time I will weigh the bags prior to loading into my basket. Even thought about sending HEB main office an email informing them of "missing potatoes" but would they believe me....probably not...so this is to everyone...Unless you want to pay $1.00 a lbs for potatoes...you might want to double check the weight.
