It's become a cliche, but FDR dubbed Dec. 7 "a date which will live in infamy." Next year will be the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, which just made me wonder, do people still think it's a day worth remembering? So wrapped in my coat that's too thin I shivered my way to IHOP to ask the people what they think. Here's what they said:

“Yeah I think it’s very important, but people don’t really know what today is all about. It’s a part of our history and I think we should realize what it stands for.” – Marlene Dreier-Rangnow, nursing home employee, Victoria.

“I think they should remember, but I don’t think people do. I think it’s important because a lot of our fathers and grandfathers died in that war.” – David Pohl, oil field worker, Hallettsville.

“Yeah. It seems like it’s only in Hollywood that they really remember now. I think 9/11 cast a pretty big shadow over everything else. It could be remembered more.” –Travis Prewett, land man, Houston.

“I remember it. It’s important because it was one of the United States’ biggest tragedies.” – Colton Eichholz, student, Victoria.
