The Victoria Ballet Theatre's "The Nutcracker" premieres today so fellow Ranging Reporter J.R. Ortega and I went out to ask people what their favorite holiday performance is, be it a show, a play, a movie or that ballet everyone talks about. You know, the one about the doll and dancing food. (Mine is a draw between "A Christmas Carol" and anything Christmas-y with Bing Crosby - I love him. There, I've admitted it.)

Here's what they had to say:

"My favorite ever is “A Christmas Story” with Ralphie and the Old Man. It’s the best because you know you’ll shoot your eye out.” – Gabriel Martinez, AT&T employee, Yoakum.

“A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott in it. There are about 20 different versions of it, but the one with George C. Scott is the best.” Jerry Graves, machinist, Victoria.

“White Christmas. It’s just a great Christmas story.” Marcella Wagner, housewife, Victoria.

“A performance I saw in Omaha, Nebraska of “A Christmas Carol”. It’s just very grand and magical and traditional. You see generations taking their families to it year after year.” Michelle Reasoner, homemaker, Hallettsville.
