Question of the day: Does the inclement winter weather we're having surprise you?

There's a nip in the air and snow, ice and generally chilly conditions seem to be inevitable for our little corner of South Texas. So I asked IHOP patrons what they think about all of this shivery weather: Are you surprised by the winter weather we're having?

"Not really. it's just a typical winter in Texas." Oscar Ortiz, service manager, Caldwell, Texas.

"Well, we came here from Missouri in 2004 to get away from the cold and we got the 100 year snow and now it's the 100 year cold. Yeah, we're kind of surprised." Jay Graves, retired, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

"No, because it's happens like this every other year. Every other year Victoria has a bad winter." -Amanda Smith, Haliburton employee, Victoria.

"Well, yes I certainly did not expect this kind of weather here. I'm a visitor here and it's never been this cold. Seeing weather like this in Texas seems very unusual." Stanley Edington, mayor, Reyno, Ark.
