Us ranging reporters just got to thinking about text lingo, what with reporter Aprill Brandon's new story about all those crazy abbreviations those crazy kids (and adults, and parents, and grandparents) are using. BTW, I don't really like text lingo myself, but it's kind of 'When in Rome' thing. It;s the way everyone talks via text and the more you text the more you'll find yourself abbreviating in that super-trendy way... But that's just my own opinion. Let's see what IHOP patrons had to say:

I’m not that familiar with texting so I really don’t see the use for it. I don’t like texting at all. When I see people texting while they’re driving it just makes me so angry.” – Carmen Gonzales, HEB employee, Victoria.

“I guess it’s a good thing. It saves time. I don’t know a lot of them but I do the lol and I like the little semi-colon smiley face.” Lyn Ruppert, homemaker, Yorktown.

“I think for people my age it’s confusing. To me it looks like a bunch of misspelled words. I try to understand it, especially when it comes from my kids, but they just laugh and and say don’t you get what that means.” – Billy Barrera, Schwann’s Home Service manager, Victoria.

“I use some of it sometimes, but I think people really go overboard with it.”- Nicole Briones, receptionist, Victoria.
