A number of years back, I worked on a ranch outside Taos, NM "gentle breaking" (gentle for the horse, not me) an adopted BLM mare...this stock makes excellent horses if you care enough to take the time with them that they deserve....anything is better than what Texas Parks and Wildlife (led, at the the time, by the CEO of Bulldozer manufacturer and GOP campaign contributor Caterpillar, through political appointment of Gov. Perry) did more recently with wild burros at Big Bend Ranch State park. The State shot burros by the hundreds from helicpoters over the State Park that borders Big Bend National Park (and where such an act, whether committed under color of law or not, would be and IS a federal offense). I worked for the NPS at the time and it was horrible to see what State officials considered "wildlife management", just as it is shocking to see what our "Drill, Baby, Drill" local and State leaders consider responsible environmental, health and safety practices in the oilfields and on the highways of South Texas.....
