If you've ever seen that Gregory Peck movie, "The Big Country" you may have caught that Texas is indeed rather large. You might have also noticed the size of this place if you've ever had to drive across it. Anyway, we're a big state with a lot of people, and we have lots of trash.

The Environmental Protection Agency noted that Texas has 27 landfills producing enough methane to make electricity or be used to produce power. The state also has 57 landfills that are candidates for such a project, according to the federal agency.

So all of that trash may actually be good for something, according to StateImpact Texas. Pretty nifty that something so smelly might actually be put to good use, yes?
