It's been almost two years since the Deepwater Horizon rig went up in flames, killing 11 and kicking off one of the worst environmental disasters in our history.

About 200 million gallons of oil gushed into the Gulf before the oil well was plugged. In the wake of the spill, thousands were impacted and now shrimpers and oyster-men, waitresses and hotel workers who have been impacted have joined together in a suit to see what went wrong.

Some leading analysts thought the oil spill would never go to trial, but now it looks like it will, according to a story from NPR, as the trial's start date at the end of February approaches.

The trial is set to start at the end of the month and colleagues say U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier is definitely up to the task of handling the complex case which is expected to dig into what went wrong. There's still time to settle but I'll bet it'll be an interesting trial if it does get to court.
