The Railroad Commission and TCEQ are in town today

That's right, representatives from the RRC and TCEQ will be on hand this afternoon, with a few other public and private sector dignitaries, to speak at the Victoria Energy Summit.

I wonder what they want to talk about?

Kidding. Oil, of course. All of that black gold that has been gurgling up from the Eagle Ford Shale formation has brought all of these folks into town.

If you guessed this energy summit is aimed at talking about the positive impacts of the Eagle Ford Shale oil boom then you guessed right. The summit is being held by the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute, and I'll be on hand to cover the meeting which is slated to run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m at the Johnson Symposium Center, Victoria College, 2200 E. Red River..
