If you haven't heard about the Eagle Ford Shale, you're obviously living on another planet, because it's been the talk of Crossroads for a couple of years now.

The Texas Legislature is also getting in on the act; lawmakers created the Eagle Ford Shale Legislative Caucus, which held it's first meeting on Wednesday, according to StateImpact Texas.

The group heard from DeWitt County Judge Daryl Fowler, as he continues his quest to get lawmakers to change how the severance tax collected from counties is doled out - right now, most of the money goes to the Rainy Day Fund, while county roads continue to deteriorate, Fowler says.

Economist Thomas Tunstall predicts that the Eagle Ford will continue booming for years to come, and it does seem to be the case since now the EFS has even got it's very own caucus.
