Yesterday while hub was home for lunch, the doorbell rang. He was home, so I didn't hesitate to answer it. Outside stood a possible 20 year old, and a black hatch back looking mustang was parked across the end of the driveway. The young man proceeded to tell me that he did auto body repair, and would I be interested in have the tailgate fixed on the truck. I politely said no thank you, we will be selling the car pretty soon anyway. He then asked how much we would want for it.

About this time, hub came around the corner wanting to know what the --LL was going on. --ll no, the truck isn't for sale, and this area has a sign posted against solicitations. The young man then thanked us for our time. The hub who doesn't remember to put garage doors down or lock us in at night, then began lecture # 94 about never opening the door to someone I don't know. Well, duh!! Guys just driving around neighborhoods like this are just looking for trouble. It's not like there are any hot twenty years olds on the block. I explained that I never would have opened the door if he hadn't been there. If the guy and mustang didn't leave, I would have called the sheriff's office. He calmed down and went on back to work.

I got to thinking about the events of the past month or so. At least 3 times a week, I come home to little flyers on my door. Sometimes, I am at home and hear the door bell along with the walk by. I got to thinking that maybe we have a new game in town that uses flyers to scout houses. It is probably an old game, and I am just now catching on. We have a great neighborhood watch, so we reported the mustang. If it comes back, we all have our pencils and pads ready.

Hub then called around 3 and told me to get all my stuff done this week because I was definitely going hunting with him. I complained that we might get robbed. He reminded me that we are insured and then, click. End of discussion. I will convince him to leave me a loaded gun, and send him on his way. I don't sleep when he's gone anyway, so I will be alert to any possible intruders. Man, the B&Es seem to be getting smarter. Pay attention, folks.
