I know, I know. This one is going to bring a flurry of fightin' words out of this crowd. Oh well! I made a decision to not fight back here or just give it up. This forum is for opinions and that's that. Politicians from both parties have established the mantra, " take what we can get while in office and we will pay the piper "if" we get caught." Deep down we all know this as truth. I was overseas during Watergate, and the only current information we could get at the time was through the BBC. I wasn't a prayer warrior and was darned glad I was a Democrat at the time. I usually swing both ways in politics, and I basically vote for the most honest men. I find it sad that I have to use most and honest together when describing politicians. A person is either honest or dishonest. The forums I read usually reveal the heart of the politicians who eventually get my votes. My prayer warrior side keeps begging God to save America if just one honorable man is among us. I have had to edit it to include politicians of this day and age. I will never give up my quest to beg God for his assistance concerning this great country.
One of the financial articles I read has stated that very soon only 47% of America's population will be paying taxes. Folks, this scares me to death and not because we won't always be able to do our share to support this great country. It scares me because basic math tells me that the financial triangle is now upside down. It means that 53% of America is going to be supported by 47% of us. Close to home, this is fine with me.
I tell myself that my tax dollars help support my disabled sister and soon, my disabled brother, who through no faults of their own, have become a part of this triangular system. That was one of the honorable intentions as to why our social security system was created...to feed the needy....so no one past the age of working hard would go hungry... and could have a roof over their heads....at least that's what I was led to believe. Brother feels extremely guilty but relieved as he was on the verge of losing everything after an industrial accident. He has been blessed to have resolved this issue in one short year. He's actually cried over losing his one true passion, his job. He is one of the millions of men whose identity is closely tied to his job description. I totally understand. I have been blessed to be married to two such men. My last love in life has forsaken his true passion to appease me, and I am smart enough to know this. He has loved me enough to just keep on keeping on when many times he wanted to tell his bosses AMF. We will both soon reap the rewards from finding our life partners.
Now that I have a son in the military, I also convince myself that my tax dollars are being well spent. It's the best argument so far. The point of this review of my feelings concerning politics is taking back America because we have a great country. The illegal immigration alone proves this. Thousands risk their lives every year to escape to our world. Yes, the world is jealous of us because we are still an "us" nation. The kings of the world have a hard time justifying their existence while America and its peoples have become a powerful nation. This news is still being retold in lie after lie after lie throughout the continents. As nations of the world are getting rid of their socialist economies, American politicians seem to want to experiment with this "ism." Unfortunately, so do our enemies because socialism ultimately ends in dictatorships disguised as presidents who are puppets of the dictatorships.
I really don't care if anyone disagrees with my assessment of the different "isms" of the world. I take great pride in the capitalism of our country. It lets men be men. We are no longer gatherers and hunters, and men and women take care of their households in this capitalistic country. Thousands of illegals prove that men and women want to go forward in their lives, not backwards.
The world opinion made itself quite clear by ousting America in the first round for the Olympics. The world wasn't even polite about it. Chicago would have created thousands of jobs for the games here, but world politics won out. Specific entities would have been the winners in the world financial realm, but that didn't happen. The world powers made sure of that.
The only thing that scares me at all concerns military strategy. Once again, a southern neighbor will become just a little more wealthy, and that wealth will be transferred to some military strategy down the line. The trickle down effect just gets worse for America. Our politicians need to focus on protecting our country, folks. We will soon be surrounded with danger that far exceeds anything even a movie like 2012 can conjure up.
