The Chronicle featured Kay and Kinky today. Kay was in the Business section and Kinky was in the City and State section. 2010 has been my mantra for a while now. From the sounds of it on the TV, several congressmen are rethinking their allegiances, and making it known. It is about time. The only people who can make change happen are the voters. If you aren't registered to vote, please go do that soon and encourage anyone else who isn't registered to do so. It is never too early to get ready to make your statement in politics.
Our vote is our voice in politics. The tea parties are having a consistent impact at this time, but until any or all representation is replaced, nothing much is going to happen. The last round was for change, and the majority won. If you agree with the changes that may or may not be approved, then vote the status quo. The voters, who are against the changes, can make their voices heard as well.
I make it a habit to really read the candidates' ideas and ideology. I will be the first to admit that I vote against issues with which I disagree. It's my right as a citizen of the United States of America. I am thankful that I won't be attacked on my way to vote. I am thankful that I won't be threatened or coerced to vote a certain way. I've registered in both parties at different times in my life. Politics and agendas change every few years. As voters, we need to remain flexible in our thinking. I personally think that more independents are going to be showing up as the years progress. Most serious politicians understand that funding and lots of it is needed to make a successful run for office. Party affiliation will be interesting to watch this year. The reasons will be interesting reading.
