Though the best part of the college basketball season isn't until March, things are looking pretty interesting early this year.

Some of the top programs in the country are off to good starts, including Kansas (8-0), North Carolina (8-0) and Duke (6-0). It's not that surprising given that the teams don't play the hardest schedules early, but from the little I've seen, they do look strong.

No. 4 Texas looks that way too. The Longhorns rolled to an 88-72 win over North Texas on Wednesday and are now 8-0. Texas lost the best player in the country in Kevin Durant, but are picking right back up on their success.

Texas A&M looked pretty good until late in the game against Arizona, and only has that one blemish from the Wildcats on its record. The Aggies are 7-1 along with the Bruins of UCLA whose only loss came to the Longhorns.

  • Rock chalk, Wes. Kansas is going all the way this year. The Jayhawks will beat traitor Roy Williams' Tar Heels on the way to the championship.
