If you're a sports fan today is a great day for you. Thursday isn't usually a great day to sit in front of the television for sports, but today is a special treat. Yes, the sports gods are smiling on us all.

If you're into baseball, click over to the Red Sox-Indians game. The Indians are on the verge of reaching the World Series, while the Red Sox are looking to win three in a row to reach the championship. Football fans have a good college game with South Florida playing Rutgers. While we may not know too many of the players, or even what state South Florida is in, the Bulls can showcase why they are ranked No. 2 tonight.

Basketball may be the best show tonight, though. It's still preseason, but TNT is airing the Lakers versus the Sonics. Kobe Bryant has been out of practice this week because of injury or because of his trade demands. It's also a chance for us to see Kevin Durant for the first time in a live NBA game. Seattle isn't on television often, so this might be one of our few chances.

And yes, I know South Florida is a fine liberal arts college in North Carolina.
