Is Jason Kidd the answer for the Dallas Mavericks?

That question will not be answered until the playoffs, but him joining the team can't hurt. Sure analyst are saying the Mavericks will miss Harris' defense, but Kidd will add energy the team has lacked.

I still think the Spurs are going to be the team to beat, but the Mavs will be right there with them. I'm just waiting to see a classic 7-game series between the two Texas teams.

Who do you see as the best NBA team right now?

  • I think the trade the Spurs had with the Sonics was a definite shot in the arm for them. I hated to see Brent Barry and Francisco Elson go. But at the same time I'm glad they didn't mortgage the future like the Mavs did.  Witness the score the other night with Kidd on the floor.
Can hardly wait for Parker to be back on the floor and with my guy Manu coming off the bench midways of the 1st quarter and burning the twine.

  • Before the rodeo trip, I would've definitely said the Hornets are playing the best ball in the West. But now that my beloved Spurs have finally started to click, those Charlotte boys better watch out! We're getting healthy and starting to run on all cylinders. I'm concerned for the Mavs because they were sorely lacking a dependable big man in the middle and this trade obviously did not help that situation. They need someone to go in to battle with Yao, Timmy and now Shaq. But overall, I think that Kidd breathes new life into a team that played like they'd eaten bad cheese. I'm anxious to see the West playoffs. While the Celts are hoping not to flop in the East [like Dallas in the first round last year], there's really only one or two teams -- Detroit and Cleveland -- that can seriously challenge them. In the West, everything's up for grabs. Go Spurs Go!

  • Right on with the Spurs, Wes. Although the Hornets are making a lot of noise. Hopefully the Spurs will do well as they always do after the rodeo trip.
