People always say not to believe everything you read in the news, but this is actually true. As hard as it is to believe, a mens team from Baylor is ranked in the Top 25 of an Associated Press poll.

And the remarkable thing is that it's not in tennis or baseball.

For the first time since 1969 the men's basketball team has cracked into the national picture. The Bears, who are ranked No. 25, are 15-2 going into Wednesday's game against Texas A&M and have a 3-0 record in the Big 12.

Baylor snapped a 25-road losing streak by beating Nebraska 72-70 on Saturday, and have also picked up conference wins over Oklahoma State and Iowa State. Curtis Jerrells leads a cast of five Bears averaging in double figures with 13 points per game.

Maybe this will last, or maybe it won't, but Baylor's start to the season is impressive nonetheless.

  • I watched the highlights of the game last night vs A&M.; Those Baylor kids are really good. I just wish the game had been televised nationally so more people could see them.
