George Hill wasn't on the radar of most people on the planet before Thursday, but Spurs fans now have another player to cheer for.
Hill, who went to Indiana University Purdue University, doesn't have the name recognition that comes from playing at a big time program but San Antonio took him with the 26th pick of the NBA draft.
He stands around 6-2 according to ESPN and is supposedly a well conditioned player. At his position, he'll come off the bench to help Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.
The first two picks went as predicted. Rose to the Bulls and Beasley to the Heat. Rose, who showed us his talents during the NCAA tournament which included a thumping of Texas, is a true point guard. He should be able to help the Bulls get over the hurdle they have been trying to clear since the departure of Michael Jordan.
Beasly, who ripped through the Big 12 in his freshman year, is a beast. He has the size and quickness that will translate to the NBA game and will help Wade and Marion on the Heat team which took a nose dive this season.
