Very few teams make the playoffs when they go the entire district schedule without a win at home. Memorial (4-2, 2-2) is 0-2 on the new Memorial Stadium turf this season in District 27-5A action this season, but look to reverse that trend today.
The Vipers host Corpus Christi King (2-5, 0-4) today at 7:30 p.m. Memorial will look for its home crowd for support, but if you can't make it to the stadium then keep up with the action right here.
I'll be blogging throughout the game from the press box.
Memorial needs a better start than what it got last week against Highlands. The Vipers fell behind 17-0 at halftime before charging back to take a 36-23 win at Alamo Stadium. The Mustangs are coming off a lopsided loss to Judson, but are a deceiving 0-4 in district.
King took a two-point loss to Wagner and played an overtime game against East Central. A win doesn't seal a playoff berth for the Vipers but it will put them in good shape with two games left after today's game.
