I have two ex-girlfriends who graduated from the University of Texas and one that dropped out. Still haven't dated anyone from Texas Tech yet, so my heart is telling me to pull for the Red Raiders on Saturday.

My brain, on the other hand, is screaming for Texas. The Longhorns have looked spectacular on offense and defense throughout the year and I don't think Tech's defense will be able to stop them. Colt McCoy has grown into being one of the premiere quarterbacks in the country and the defense has looked fierce.

Still, Texas Tech will give them a test like the one the Longhorns passed against Oklahoma. The question is whether Texas can continue to ace these things like they have against the Sooners, Missouri and Oklahoma State.

Texas Tech has worked its way up in the college landscape and are enjoying its glory right now. ESPN is headed to Lubbock and the game is the top game being aired on ABC.

Harrell and the Red Raiders have the potential to put up a lot of points, but so do the Longhorns. It should be a great game but one that I'm not sure of.

So who do you got?

  • I'm going with the Longhorns, but it is going to be a shootout. It would not surprise me to see a record number of points scored [total for both teams]. Both QBs are going to put up astronomical numbers which will negate both defenses. Barring any brain freezes or starstruck-ness on Tech's part, it's going to be a close one. Texas by 2.
BTW Wes, please tell me you were not the reason your ex dropped out of school. :)

  • Texas -- 42 wins against tech.
tech ----14 wins against THE University.
Guess it is time for tech to step up.

  • Sounds like a bit a braggin' on your part, Wes.
If one of those west Texas girls got hold of you, I'd bet you'd really be a fan!
This a huge deal for Lubbock, and if Tech wins......look out! Great call by the network to feature this on Prime Time! #1 vs #7. Underdog vs Overachiever. Texas vs West Texas. Rain on the day after Thanksgiving! TX-OU Weekend just a bore!
    Get your popcorn ready!
