Jags bounce back with win over Southwestern

Southwestern made it interesting, closing to within two runs and put two on in the ninth before Mike Arevealo came in to shut the door and seal a win for the Jaguars.

Arevealo picked up his third save as UHV moved to 3-1 on the season with a 9-7 win over the Pirates.

Jags looking strong through six innings here at Riverside Stadium. UHV up 9-3 on the Pirates of Southwestern.

Austin Hitt has been replaced by Chris Neiser. Hitt went five innings, picking up five strike outs while allowing six hits for the Jaguars.

UHV gave up two in the second, but responded with six runs of its own in the second inning. Tony Rothman highlighted the inning with a three-run home run for the Jaguars.

UHV up 8-2 through two.

The Jaguars are up 2-0 on the Southwestern Pirates after one complete inning. Ray McDonald led off with a triple and scored on a Michael Prestera double.Prestera scored on a Tony Rothman single.
