UHV tops Texarkana

Lauren Garza struck out eight Texarkana College batters and the UHV Jaguars returned to the win column with a 7-5 win at the Galveston College Invitational.

The Jags are now 2-2 in the tournament with one more game to go. UHV returns to the field at 4 p.m. against San Jacinto College to finish off five games in two days against junior college opponents.

The UHV softball team lost 5-0 to Alvin in its first game on Saturday at the Galveston College Invitational.

Tasha Rotramel received the loss for the Jags who are now 1-2 on the season.

UHV plays at noon against Texarkana College.
