That's the truth. When I finish a draft I will put it away for anywhere from two weeks to a month without looking at it. That gives my mind time to get away from it and I can begin the revision process from a more objective place. It's also great when you go over something that has been "aging" for a long time and say, "This is really good, there's no way I wrote this."
