Another important thing to watch for when studying market listings is the acronym SASE. This stands for self-addressed stamped envelope Most agents and publishers require you to send one if you expect a reply from them and especially if you want any of your materials returned.
Of course, if they really like your work an SASE won't stand in the way of a reply, but if their market listing says send one....send one...no matter how great you think your work is.
