I have learned a lot in preparing the proposal for my true crime book. I never was really a big reader of true crime, although I had read some like Joseph Wambaugh and an Ann Rule or two.

By the way, Ann Rule rules true crime. She's had 28 books published and another one coming out in November.

One thing I found is that the true crime and true detective stories magazines that were so popular 25 or 30 years ago have all but died out. I did not know that.

Anyway, I'm close to having this puppy ready to go. I have to submit about three sample chapters with it and am in the process of typing those, so it won't be long.
