My girlfriend's daughter had a fundraiser at school and I bought a couple of magazine subscriptions including one to an old friend, "Writer's Digest."

I subscribed to the magazine for several years and leaned heavily on its annual "Writer's Market" listings of agents and publishers when trying to sell my work.

I got my first issue yesterday and glanced at it briefly, but already saw a couple of articles i know I'll find helpful. And of course, market listings.

If you are a serious writer, pick up a copy and check it out. I've always found it to be a useful tool.

  • It's great magazine and really about the only writing magazine you need. They have great articles on almost every aspect of writing and becoming an author, and the interviews are great. I've enjoyed Writer's Digest for a long time.

  • I subscribed to Writer's Digest for several years. It was encouraging to me to read interviews of well-known writer's and how the overcome writer's block, rejection letters, the kinds of approaches they take to begin new works, old works...etc. The Writer's Market is definitely a good tool...how to write for guidelines....whether a publisher will take unsolicitated works...who to send it to.
    Good luck with your projects.
