Book Festival honor

I got word Monday afternoon that Among Murderers and Madness received an Honorable Mention at the San Francisco Book Festival.

Needless to say, I'm excited. I entered the book in three contests -- two at book festivals and one sponsored by a writers' magazine -- and this is the first of them to complete their judging.

I don't win anything other than having my name mentioned in their publicity, but that's something in itself, getting the word out about the book outside of this area and the area where the murders took place.

It's a good step and an honor.
