All I have heard these past few days is people crying racisim to anyone that will listen. Just because somebody with a differnt color of skin than you has said something that you don't agree with, the first thing that is yelled is "RACISIM" By saying "you people" to a group of people of different races does not qualify as racism. Lets take a look at the dictonary definition....
racism/re-s-zəm/ [rey-siz-uhm]
–noun 1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
-
a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
-
hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
That is the definition of it. Not one line in there says "you don't have the same views as me so that makes you a racist" It's just a cop out for some people that can't debate anything with facts, instead they cry racist and jump up and down and pound their chests for eveyone to see. Now I know racism is not dead in this country by a long shot so don't even go there, and you know who you are, it's just getting really old hearing the same people over and over and over again yelling it. Everybody has their differences and that's never going to change, but it's up to you to make the difference in your own life. If you expect somebody else to do it for you, your going to be let down.

I ment to say....it was a sarcastic comment.
September 4, 2009 at 4:17 p.m.You don't have to go to a meeting to see that. Just go to a protest that involves either one...or just walk by and see what is said. And I'll refer you to my last comment. It was a sarcastic. And even if it wasn't, I have the same right as you do to voice my opinion.
September 4, 2009 at 4:15 p.m.Have I gone to the meeting Justin, No, but I have been present when the protests have taken place and they were very racist. And for your information that was a sarcastic comment. Remember it's all about T-O-N-E.
Alton, I agree with you 100%. There is always going to be somebody with intent to keep that line there.
John, you hit the nail on the head with that one. Every race has those people who will drag it down. The white supremists are the worst. I can't stand to see a "skin head" on the news. Those people should be the first ones they "put down". This country was founded on the principals that ANYBODY could come here and start a new, productive life.
September 4, 2009 at 2:35 p.m.Great Blog. Reading all these comments and comments and blogs over the last 12 months, I have came to the conclusion that many individuals in this country are creating a racial line between themselves and others. Because of this division, I believe in the next four years we will once again see racial riots. Riots that will separate this country and not unite it.
September 3, 2009 at 7:47 p.m.The comment concerning "failure of a racial group", is to say the least, interesting.
Any racial group can be manipulated to fail. I've seen first hand caucasians, put in similiar situations as Latino's and Blacks of equivalent "ignorance", produce the same failed social result. Gangs, Drugs, and Violence were the result of these conditions; and this can easily be done to white people as it is done to minorities.
No racical group is truely, a failed group; they are simply being manipulated by their enviroment. You have to consider that the majority of contemporary cultures in America have had 1000's of years of sophistication.
Much of today's disorder is because of Hitler, who brought about the creation of the new world order. If you study history, most of Mankinds technological development has occured since then and because of him. The Nazi's brought to light the consequences to a nation, that fails to learn.
The cry of Racism is both a tool to bring assistance and diminish empowerment; of both the accuser and accused.
It was the centralization of power in "Non-White" countries, that refused to embrace technological development; that enable the concept of White superority to develop as it did. Every race has suffered from a superiority complex. It could have been any race, it just happened to be the "white race" that got stuck with the complex.
If anything "white supremacy", has injured and dimminished white empowerment. I'm speaking of racism from this prospective, because it appears to be the most hark on.
Minorities have not failed in America, America has failed it's own. It took the combined efforts of all the people's of the Americas to defeat Hitler. If America had only been populated with White or Latino's; we would have lost the war, and speaking German. I'm not trying to leave anyone out, just making the point that racial distinctions should not be compared to each other as good or bad; just in how we can be of service to each other.
This country belongs to all Americans, equally.
September 3, 2009 at 2:08 p.m.I know what you were saying gyro. Somebody had to mess with you! lmao
September 3, 2009 at 1:53 p.m.Why stop at the NAACP. What about LULAC also? Theres another racist conglomeration. The point I'm trying to make is this... There are several people on these blogs that claim racism over and over and over again like a broken record. And so far all I have seen is a letter to the editor that was written about Nobama and the people he surrounds himself with. So, in other words I'll spell it out real easy....there is alot of IGNORANCE going around and it seems to be catching.
Gyro Ive never concidered the NBA racially unbalanced. Thats just the way it goes, if somebody is good enough to get picked up then that's the whole. When I got picked up for college baseball and had scouts watching me, I did't care what color the rest of the people they were trying out at the same time. The pros want people that can keep the wins coming in. If it wasn't for 2 bum knees I probably would have made it to the MLB.
Reyrey,
That comment about the KKK was both racist and ignorant.
Salazza,
Well, he's just ignorant all the way around.
BJ,
September 3, 2009 at 12:36 p.m.That is just plain instagating as I said before.
"The Civil Rights act of 1965 states simply 'That no one shall be descriminated against because of race, creed, color or gender'"
By that definition then, The United Negro College Fund "A mind is a terrible thing to waste" is a racist organization.
Try being white and apply for a grant though them!
Or better yet, try creating a United White College Fund and see what the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do to you.
Everytime racism is discussed it is nearly always in a
White vs Black
White vs Hispanic
White vs Asian
White vs everything non-white
Nobody ever see or refuses to admit the Whites are just as disciminated against by blacks, hispanics, and others as anyone else.
Not historically I agree. But we dont live in the past. We live in TODAY!
To those who would make a "Turnabout is fair play" argument. That's wrong. Racism is wrong despite what has gone before. It was wrong then. It is still wrong now.
September 3, 2009 at 10:26 a.m.Good post.
Racism knows no color or ethnic group. It is global. It is what it is and makes no difference rich or poor. Those who don't understand that don't know cultures.
September 2, 2009 at 8:43 p.m.very racist
September 2, 2009 at 3:34 p.m.While I disagree with how gyroscope stated it, I do see where he is coming from.
where he went wrong was in writing "...excuse for failure of minorities..."
that makes his statement seem racist itself.
What I have seen is that SOME MEMBERS of minority groups do use racism as an excuse for their PERSONAL FAILURES, not the failures of their minority group.
That's not to say all claims of racism are false. It is still alive and well both here in America and around the world. It is no longer socially acceptable and those who openly practice racism are shunned outsiders, but it does exist.
Still, a large percentage of racism claims (by no means a majority) are false and are used as either excuses (for personal failures) or as opportunities for fame and fortune (by the likes of Sharpton and others who live off of racism)
September 2, 2009 at 1:33 p.m.Gyroscope, can you hook me up with the local KKK branch. I mean, you do have some original facts, the NBA is a classic, where did you come with this one? Failures by minorities, really? I do agreed with the blogger about being responsible for your actions but you just take it a notch higher. So, just post it here so we can meet there unless they do not accept minorities.
September 2, 2009 at 12:19 p.m.I get the biggest laugh out of some people that try to post comments on things they whine about. Salazza, all you can do is complain about people while your sitting at home watching your mom's soap operas and sitting on the computer untill she gets home. Now as far as racism goes I am the last person to cry about it and between my wife and myself we have most of them covered! There is ALOT of people on here claiming racism at anything they don't want to hear. If somebody came on here yelling the N word or wet..well you get my point, then yes that is racism. But just because you don't like what somebody says because it differs from your opinion, which I always say it's like a certian body part and everybody has one that doesn't mean we want to hear it, it's not racisit. If your looking for one...look in the mirror and see what stares back at you.
September 2, 2009 at 11:38 a.m.Your one of the first ones that cry it Salazaa.
September 2, 2009 at 11:30 a.m.Bird brains of a feather flock together.
September 2, 2009 at 11:26 a.m.Great blog!
